How to Lock Your Windows Desktop

Since the release of Windows 98, Windows taskbar never again looks plain. You can add various toolbar there. Just try to right-click your mouse on the taskbar, then select the menu [Toolbars]. There will pop up some of the toolbar that you can select such as [Windows Media Player], [Address], [Links], [Language bar], [Desktop], [Tablet PC Input Panel], and [Quick Launch]. You can even create your own toolbar by clicking the [New Toolbar ...].

The feature can potentially make your desktop looks messed up. Although you have put it in order, other users can still change your windows display. Therefore, you should lock your Windows Desktop, here’s how:

1. Click [Start] and type gpedit.msc in the search for entry into Group Policy.
2. Go to the folder Local Computer Policy-User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Desktop-.
3. Find and double click the desktop settings Prohibit adjusting toolbars.
4. On Prohibit adjusting desktop toolbars Properties, click [Enabled] the radio button to lock the toolbar.
5. Click [OK] to close the Properties window.

Now we’re done a half way, the above steps will only lock the toolbar, meaning, that the user can’t modify the toolbar but still able to add or remove the toolbar and move its position with the drag and drop. And how’s the solution?

try these simple steps:

1. If you have been out of Group Policy, run back editor policy. After that, go to the same folder with the previous step.
2. Double-click settings Prevent adding, dragging, dropping, and closing the Taskbar’s toolbars are in the right window.
3. In the Prevent adding, dragging, dropping, and closing the Taskbar’s toolbars Properties, click [Enabled].
4. Finally, click [OK] and close the Group Policy window.

Now, other users can never mess up your windows desktop.

Keep your Windows Activation

Since Windows XP, Windows must be activated so that it can work properly. If it’s not activated, Windows can only be used for 30 days. After that, the OS will be locked and can only be used once it is activated.

Other software vendors also began to apply the same method. Just take a look at Symantec or Adobe. Before you can use their software, they required activation first first. The activation options usually given via internet or phone.

Activation can a solution to prevent or reduce the amount of piracy of software products. However, this activation thing could be problems for the owner of the licensed software. We got simple solution for this issue,Before you do re-install Windows, follow the this step;.

1. Run Windows Explorer.
2. Create a new folder. For example, a folder called “backup” located in drive D.
3. Go to the folder C:-Windows-system32-. If you install Windows on another drive, you can adjust the folder with the drive that you use.
4. On the right side of a window, there will appear information stating that the files in the are hidden. Click [Show the contents of this folder] to display the contents of the system32 folder.
5. After the system32 folder opened, look for a file named wpa.dbl.
6. copy the Wpa.dbl to the folder that you have previously made (D-backup).

You can now re-install your Windows. After Windows is installed pitch, carry on the work with these steps.

1. Restart the computer and press the [F8] on the keyboard before logging into the Windows operating system.
2. Select [Safe Mode].
3. run Windows Explorer once more.
4. Go to the folder D: backup, place the backup files stored wpa.dbl. Copy the file back to the folder C:-Windows-system32-.
5. When you paste the file wpa.dbl, information will appear that the file has been available in the system32 folder. Just Click [Yes].
6. The final step, restart Windows. Windows will ask for activation no more.

Note:

Make sure the hardware that you use is not changed before and after you re-install Windows. If you add or reduce computer hardware, this trick won’t work.
