Microsoft Offers OEM XP Downgrade Disks 6 Months Extention

Customers who purchase Windows Vista Business and Ultimate editions will have the chance until July 31 2009, to downgrade to XP Professional if they would like to.

Microsoft will provide hardware partners with the media to enable its customers to downgrade Windows Vista to Windows XP by six more months than originally planned, the company confirmed on Friday.

The move comes even as Microsoft has just released a $ 300 million marketing and advertising campaign in promoting Vista. The company is also preparing windows 7, the next version of the client operating system, for release in the next 12 to 18 months. Read the rest of this entry

The design concept is pretty simple: just clip onto your notebook LCD screen, it would let you hold a 2.5-inch drive. Of course, how well this work depends on the weight of his unit. It would look weird to see slim notebooks like Macbook Air carrying this device.

Toshiba plans to launch laptop battery that needs only a few minutes charging. The Japanese electronics company is preparing to design the prototype of Super Charge Ion Battery (SCiB), The battery is designed to be more durable and able to fill 90 percent of the capacity only in ten minutes.

SCiB is claimed to be more powerful than Lithium-ion battery of other laptops. The Battery is not only durable but also safe, because it is not flammable. Toshiba said that SCiB made from materials with high level of stability so that it won’t get burnt easily even in a high temperature.

Barack Obama increasingly asserts his position as the most Technology savvy Candidate. He took advantages of the popular IPhone applications to build support.

The Obama’08 applications includes many features that can be used for supporting Obama. This includes activities to local campaigns, search headquarters’ Obama for America ‘and access to images and video campaign.

Laptop that Contained Strategic Information stolen from McCain’s Campaign Office

The John McCain’s Campaigns in Missouri Team candidate seems to tighten security in their office, after a laptop that contained strategic information was stolen from the office.

Currently local police are investigating Local police are investigating but have not identified a suspect.

According to the spokesperson for the party of the Republic of Missouri Tina Hervey, The theft occured, sometime between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Some staff in the office guess the case has something to do with political interests, because the bad guy only take the Dell brand laptop. While there are other 22 computers that are usually used by the volunteers.

On the other hand, competitors from the Democratic party Barack Obama increasingly build support by taking advantage technology. Some media reports, that Obama has launched an application called Obama’08.

The application provided for the iPhone and iPod Touch has a service that can be used as a mean for supporting Obama. These features including local campaign activities, and navigating Obama’s campaigns Team via GPS.

Google Earth now Gets more Colors

Following the success of the launch of GeoEye-1 satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California early September, has made Google Earth the satellite image receiver with the highest color resolution in the commercial market.

How can that be ? GeoEye-1 will capture earth images digitally from 423 miles distance, while moving with a speed of 4.5 miles per second. Now, the satellite is able to capture all images with a resolution of 5.5 feet for color, and 16-inch black and white. Still, according to current government regulations, GeoEye is only allowed to show a picture resolution of 1.64 feet to the public. According to Reuters, although the satellite pictures also provide the same to the Google competitors like Yahoo!, Google will become the only customers of GeoEye online service that provides online search-mapping (via the online map search).
