G1 Android Emulator

The people at T-Mobile have released an emulator that allows us to enjoy the first phone that runs Android.

Although, Some displays are not available in this emulator but at least we can get an idea of how is the Google ‘s software runs.

I’ve been trying and it’s ture truth that is very good looking but out of doubt it’s better to wait for you to test a phone running this OS

Google Earth now Gets more Colors

Following the success of the launch of GeoEye-1 satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California early September, has made Google Earth the satellite image receiver with the highest color resolution in the commercial market.

How can that be ? GeoEye-1 will capture earth images digitally from 423 miles distance, while moving with a speed of 4.5 miles per second. Now, the satellite is able to capture all images with a resolution of 5.5 feet for color, and 16-inch black and white. Still, according to current government regulations, GeoEye is only allowed to show a picture resolution of 1.64 feet to the public. According to Reuters, although the satellite pictures also provide the same to the Google competitors like Yahoo!, Google will become the only customers of GeoEye online service that provides online search-mapping (via the online map search).

T-Mobile G1 Android OS

The T-Mobile G1 (aka HTC Dream) is the first official mobile phone featuring this Android. It’s also the first HTC that left WM operating system.

So What’s cool ?

The HTC Dream has a touch screen LCD with 3.1”HVGA resolution (480×320), a full QWERTY keyboard, a webcam 3Mpix of WiFi, 1GB memory (up to 8 GB with microSD), Bluetooth. It is also equipped with the Android Market, Push Gmail, Google Maps and the Amazon’s mobile MP3 store.
In short, it is clear that this OS Android may, without problem, compete with a competitor like Symbian.

Google accelerates mobile search with My Location Feature

My Location Feature

Google announced on Thursday that it has used its geographical position Gears API to search for businesses and places in your area easier on Windows Mobile devices.

Google said that searching with My Location estimates your location based using Cell-ID technology which has been used by Google Maps and returns businesses in that area. For example If you want to find the best Chinese restaurants in your place, you can type “Chinese restaurants” into the search panel and press button, and the result of Chinese restaurant in be shown immediately. But it goes beyond businesses and restaurants. Google has also said that if you want to get forecast info in your location, you simply type “weather” and will result weather conditions in your area.

Until now, this feature with my location is only available on Windows Mobile phones for Internet Explorer Mobile’s user in the USA and the UK, but Google said that wider support is available if it continues to conclude agreements with suppliers.

To use the new service now, go to Google.com, just click on My Location link, and there you go…

Google Chrome enters Browser Battle against Firefox, and IE

The Internet browser battle underway welcomes its new competitor: Google has released the beta version of its next browser, called Chrome. In 2006, Google said they have no plans to release of their own browser. Recent events show that this was not true. Chrome Google is very different from any browsers we know. The Crome uses WebKit engine (same as Safari), and it was written from scratch to work flawlessly with complex content such as JavaScript and modern Web applications.

Google Mobile, Powerfull apps for iPhone

What can a individual Google search apps do that searching through Google’s Web page can’t? Lots, after you start typing in the search field, Web history immediately pop up and related contacts, as well as suggested sites. Google Mobile also shows related search words before you hit the search button. For example. a search for “The Dark Knight” will outcome shortcuts to the official movie site and the IMDB site even before we hit the search button. The search results (which appear on a normal Google page in Safari) returned in 3 seconds over a 3G connection.
